This project is typical of some of the regular commissions that Habito Designs enjoys undertaking. When the owners bought the house, it was unaltered, dated, tired and very inward-looking leaving the interior dark. It was impossible to fully appreciate the sizeable rear garden and the opportunities for views, daylight and space.
We were asked to look at simple ways in which the existing house could be upgraded and improved with limited structural alteration. The ground floor was re-planned and a rear extension provided a bright open plan kitchen/ living /dining space to the rear enjoying a newly-landscaped garden. Large sliding doors allow the family rooms to spill outside and for daylight to penetrate interior spaces, blurring the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. The house was fully refurbished to suit contemporary family living.
